I have utilized two methods of designing learning activities for this course. Both methods are concerned with what students will be doing with the materials presented. Absorb, Do, Connect asks the designer to consider what students will be doing to learn the materials, passively receiving them, practicing skills, or applying new knowledge. The EASyR method of lesson design (Evaluate, Analyze, Synthesize, Review and Revise) asks the designer to look at how students are interacting with the materials, will they evaluate then, analyze them, or synthesize them, and it also asks the designer to review and revise the lesson after each iteration.
